Salone Del Mobile Di Milano 2009

Some companies at Milano Salone 2009 happened to change their exhibition sites to the Tortona district in Milan from RHO Fiera. However, manufacturers from Northern Europe, Belgium, Holland, etc. who used to have their exhibitions in Tortona newly joined the exhibition so it was filled with excitement. MOROSO from Italy got the most attention from people at the exhibition. In the booth that Patricia Urquiola and Martino Berghinz designed, newly released products of Tord Boontje, nendo and Tokujin Yoshioka were displayed. Also, furniture that was in collaboration with apparel manufacturer, DIESEL, was also displayed. On the other hand, PAOLA LENTI's furniture and rugs seen at Fuori Salone exhibited in various parts of Milan, had progressed bright colored and beautifully. Throughout the whole event, the ottoman "sweet40" by Italian GERVASONI company, the sofa "LAZY BASTERD" by young Dutch designer Bertjan Pot from MONTIS company, and the lounge chair "My" and "Roo" by Finnish WOOD NOTES company, were all represented as comfortable furniture because of their soft colors and soft touch qualities. Other pieces included a sofa with console "Beethoven" by ARMANI / CASA and a dining table with extension "Hans" released by Antonio Citterio from B&B Italia. These furniture pieces incorporated some functions as well. Citterio said, "without being swayed by the trends, people ultimately settle for the timeless design." Milano Salone is transforming into an exhibition where necessary items are presented beyond the scope of time and generation.
