Cour des Loges STAY IN LYON

courdesloges.jpg

The second primary city in France, Lyon is known for a gourmet town. There is a hotel called "Cour des Loges" in Lyon. In the old days, as this hotel was positioned in the center of a large Italian community, four buildings built in the 14th, 16th to 17th centuries, are strongly influenced by the Italian Renaissance. 63 guest rooms are decorated with different styles, however, every room is sophisticatedly coordinated with antique furnishings. Venetian red velvet hung over the windows and Lyon silk curtains are effective. You can surely savor the atmosphere of the Renaissance era and at the same time enjoy a pleasant hotel life since the rooms have modern essentials such as bathtubs and sinks designed by French designer, Philippe Starck. In the process of renovating these buildings to a hotel, French artist- Herve Thibault painted murals colored in ocher yellow and utilized stones and wood of the same generation as buildings to decorate the walls, to recapture the lost Renaissance essence. Moreover, there are 3 concierges who own gold key badges, issued the "The Society of the Golden Keys (Europe Concierge Committee)" who will kindly introduce guests to sight-seeing spots and good restaurants, and arrange for guests to get tickets to see plays and sporting events.
